Halloween is a time to dress up, celebrate and enjoy haunted happenings all over New Orleans. Or, as we say in New Orleans, basically just another night. But it’s a good excuse to indulge your sweet tooth with a few treats. To celebrate, we put together a list of some of our favorite co*cktail pairings to go with whatever treats — or tricks — you find yourself enjoying.
Old Fashioned & Candy Corn
You can’t beat the classics. Just like its namesake indicates, the Old Fashioned is one of the oldest co*cktails around — and it’s stuck around because people like it so much. As for candy corn, it’s a bit more polarizing. But there’s no denying that it’s one of the oldest and most classic Halloween treats to enjoy.

If the name Zombie weren’t already a co*cktail, the Ojen co*cktail could very well be called that. This New Orleans co*cktail came back from near extinction to become a quirky, colorful favorite. Local drinks Historian Elizabeth Pearce will lead this elevated experience. Participants will enjoy four iconic co*cktails as they discover the secrets behind balancing flavors, selecting quality ingredients, and mastering the art of batching co*cktails for entertaining. $45 per person. [$125 per person] Indulge in an extremely rare, VIP evening of bourbon exploration, guided by none other than Sazerac House's very own Bourbon Expert, Gregg L. Triche. Embark on a sensory journey through the world of fine spirits during this exclusive 90-minute tasting experience. During the event, guests will be treated to Sazerac's complete Buffalo Trace Antique Collection which includes whiskeys each named "World's Best Whiskey" multiple times. Guests will receive five, 3/4 oz pours of the most esteemed bourbons, Sazerac 18 Year Old (Rye), Eagle Rare 17 Year Old (Bourbon - Aged), William Larue Weller (Wheated), George T. Stagg (Bourbon - Barrel Proof), and Thomas Handy. Bringing these five spirits together within one tasting is truly a treasured experience for Whiskey lovers and novices. All guests must be 21 to participate. As we will have a special alcohol license and event permit on June 15th and 16th, guests will be able to access the exhibit floors before or after the tasting (pending your tasting time - the final tour departs at 4:15 p.m.) and enjoy additional sampling.
