John Cena Spoke With Divisive AEW Star; Told Them "You're Doing A Great Job" (2024)

Former SmackDown star Scrypts, formerly known as Reggie, is set to depart the WWE when his current contract expires at the start of June.

A report from Fightful Select initially revealed his contract would be expiring and the current NXT star had been informed his contract would not be getting renewed.

The high-paced superstar would then take to Instagram appearing to confirm the news, posting his contact information alongside a simple message “available June 1st.”

Long before John Cena was in contention for the title of GOAT, he was ‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’ making his name by cutting free style raps on the WWE roster and management.

Since then Cena has gone on to become one of, if not the, most iconic names in the history of wrestling.

But that hasn’t stopped him keeping his ear to the ground in the wrestling business.

On the latest episode of Isiah Kassidy’s YouTube series Eatz with Zay, Max Caster would reveal that John Cena reached out to him regarding his entrance and most specifically his freestyle raps during them.

The AEW star, who has recently been under fire for some controversial comments during his entrances, would reveal Cena was full of praise, telling him he was doing a great job.

Caster would state:

“”He texted me out of nowhere one time, and I had ask around, like, ‘Is this actually him?’ Because I thought it was someone playing a joke on me.

But I think it was after I did this rap on Sonny Kiss, and I did, ‘Booty butt, booty butt.’ That clip kind of went around, and the next week, he starts texting me, ‘You’re doing a great job, awesome.’

He’s just very complimentary. He’s hit me up a few times since, but it’s so strange having a line of communication to him.

He goes, ‘If you ever need to ask me anything, let me know.’ I’m straight-up just afraid to text him. I very much appreciate him for offering that, but man, it’s a lot of pressure because you want to come with a good question.” [h/t Cultaholic]

Wrestling fans have a complicated relationship with WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan.

One one hand his contributions to the industry are undeniable on the other his backstage behaviour, several controversies and recent bizarre claims have left The Hulkster as a bad taste in the mouths of many fans.

In a new interview/documentary, Hulk Hogan sat down to discuss his journey through faith and how it helped heal him.

However, in peak Hulk Hogan fashion, the video has gone viral not for his discussions of god but rather some questionable claims made by Hogan during the interview.

These claims included comments about Andre the Giants failure with cutlery, believing he is a bigger global star than Tom Brady and how a voice mail from Roddy Piper changed his life.
