​Goetze's Candy is a confectionery company located in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1895 as the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company, Goetze's is celebrating more than 120 years of making sweet treats in the USA.

​In the 1940's, Goetze's Candy discontinued its chewing gum and dedicated manufacturing to caramel products. Today, Goetze's Candy Company makes two brands of chewy caramel:

Cow Tales

In the early 1900’s Goetze’s expanded to a larger facility on Monument Street and began production of chewy caramels. A century later, Caramel Creams®and Cow Tales®​are still made in the same Baltimore building!

In addition to our dedication to manufacturing in the USA, Goetze’s Candy also purchases materials from American suppliers, whenever possible, to support other American businesses. As a 6th generation, family-owned and operated company, Goetze’s Candy is proud to be an American household name and to make our caramels in Maryland.

In November 1999, Goetze’sCandyCo., Inc. joined with other small family ownedcandycompanies, including Spangler, American Licorice, and Jelly Belly to formtheCandyAllianceLLC.TheCandyAlliancewas formed "to establish lawful arrangements to enhance competition inthecandyindustry, especially with largecandymanufacturers, by, among other ways, increasing placement and distribution of Members’ products and loweringtheir costs,thereby enablingthem to lower prices, raise output and give consumers wider choices." Allthemembers are of similar size, have common goals and have found synergies that will enable members to ‘build a better business’ and compete inthecrowded market place of confections and snacks. Each member is a standalone entity that operates independently of other members.
