Can you beat 12 Minutes in 12 Minutes? ›

Despite what the name suggests, 12 Minutes isn't a game that can be rushed through, and players won't even know how to beat the game until they reach the very end.

Twelve Minutes has seven different endings, some that are rather abrupt, others inconclusive, and only a few the true ending of the whole story. To find them, players will need to seek out lots of knowledge from every character involved.

After grabbing the present, talk to the wife and tell her that the day is repeating. When she responds skeptically, click the "prove the day is repeating" option and choose the present. The protagonist will say that he knows the present has baby clothes in it.

The main goal of the game then is to repeat the loop, using clues and environmental factors (such as the light switch electrocuting anyone that turns it on for a second time) to uncover the mystery. The clues feel like pieces of a jigsaw fitting together until the big twist at the end and suddenly nothing makes sense.

If you attempt to question him this way, he'll only give you short, snarky answers back. Instead, you'll have to play dirty. So, stab him with the knife you took from his pockets, and then he'll cooperate. From here, you can ask him any questions you need in order to progress forward.

12 Minutes Loop 2

This time, get into the closet and close it before your wife comes out of the bathroom. She won't know you're there so when the cop turns up you'll learn more about what's going on. Once all the events have unfolded, reset the loop by leaving the apartment.

Realizing his wife did not commit murder, the husband finds a way to prove his wife's innocence to the cop. The three characters talk peacefully and deduce the killer was the wife's brother from the affair.

Tell him you killed her father. After hearing your full confession, two more dialogue options will appear: say it's your fault and say it was an accident. Say it was your fault. He'll explain that he wants the watch and that he'll deal with you later, so tell him about the watch when the dialogue option appears.

This game may limit its loop to 12 minutes, but I found myself wishing I could stay for much, much longer. A miniature time loop thriller that will burrow into your frontal lobe and stay there long after you've solved the mystery. 12 Minutes is easily one of the best games of the year.

Advancing Time

One way to speed up time is by sleeping on the bed, which you can do by simply clicking on it. Hiding in the closet is another way to speed up time and, later on, there will be dialogue options available as well that will help you fast forward to important story points.
