Plenty of Scottish wrestlers have showcased their talent in WWE
Scotland has produced some of the most talented and charismatic wrestlers in WWE history. These athletes have not only achieved great success in the ring but have also made significant impacts on the global wrestling stage. From world champions to record-setting performers, Scottish wrestlers have left an indelible mark on WWE.
Here, we celebrate the top five best Scottish wrestlers in WWE history.
5. Joe Coffey
Joe Coffey is a prominent figure in WWE’s NXT brand and leads the formidable faction, Gallus. Coffey and Gallus made their impactful NXT debuts by attacking Diamond Mine at NXT Heatwave.
Despite a suspension for attacking officials, Coffey’s return at NXT Stand & Deliver saw him help Gallus retain the NXT Tag Team Championship against the Creed Brothers and The Family. Currently, he is set to face Wes Lee and Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Battleground. Coffey’s leadership and in-ring skills have made him a standout Scottish wrestler in WWE.
4. Nikki Cross
Nikki Cross has carved out an impressive career in WWE with her dynamic persona and in-ring prowess. She won the 2021 Money in the Bank contract and successfully cashed it in the next day to become Raw Women’s Champion. Cross also won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Rhea Ripley.
In 2022, she reverted back to the Nikki Cross name and persona, continuing to showcase her unique blend of chaos and skill. Her ability to captivate audiences and deliver intense performances has solidified her place among the best.

3. Piper Niven
Piper Niven, known for her powerful presence, began her career on the UK independent circuit under the ring name Viper. She also performed in Japan for World Wonder Ring Stardom. After participating in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, she was signed by WWE in 2019.
From 2021 to 2022, she performed under the ring name Doudrop before reverting to her current name. Niven is a former Artist of Stardom Champion, two-time ICW Women’s Champion, one-time SWA World Champion, and two-time WWE 24/7 Champion. Her versatility and strength have made her a formidable competitor in WWE.
2. Alba Fyre
Alba Fyre made her mark in WWE after competing in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017. Signing with WWE in 2019, she debuted on the NXT UK brand and became a one-time NXT UK Women’s Champion, holding the record for the championship’s longest reign at 649 days.
She also won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Isla Dawn, with their team being the final holders of the championship before its unification with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Moving to NXT in 2021 and then to SmackDown in 2023, Fyre’s reign as NXT UK Women’s Champion is the longest for a women’s champion in WWE history.
1. Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre would be the greatest Scottish to ever get inside the squared circle. Drew McIntyre’s journey in WWE has been nothing short of remarkable. After making his return in 2017, McIntyre dominated NXT, capturing the NXT Championship.
His return to WWE’s main roster in 2018 marked the beginning of a legendary run. McIntyre has won the Raw Tag Team Championship alongside Dolph Ziggler, triumphed in the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble, and secured two WWE Championships, with his first coming in the main event of WrestleMania 36 Night 2.
At WrestleMania XL Night 2, he added the World Heavyweight Championship to his accolades. McIntyre is the first and only Scottish world champion in WWE history and the 31st Triple Crown champion, solidifying his status as a top-tier performer.
