An initial recall of contaminated cheese has expanded to salad dressings and taco kits containing the cheese.
Fresh Creative Foods is recalling cremas, everything sauces, cilantro cotija dressing, poblano Caesar dressing, cilantro dressing and one taco kit due to a cheese ingredient potentially contaminated with Listeria, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with the salad dressings and taco kits.
However, the same contaminated cheese in other products prompted an initial recall after two people died and many more were sickened and hospitalized after consuming the tainted cheese.
The dressings and kits distributed to Costco, H-E-B, Trader Joe’s and Albertsons include:
- Don Pancho Cilantro Lime Crema Twin Pack
- Don Pancho Everything Sauce Fiesta 3 Pack
- H-E-B Cilantro Cotija Dressing 12-ounce bottle
- H-E-B Poblano Caesar Dressing 12-ounce bottle
- Trader Joe’s Cilantro Dressing 12-ounce bottle
- Don Pancho Chicken Street Taco Express Meal Kit 22-ounce tray

They were sold in several states, including California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
The recalled dressings were packaged in bottles while the taco kit was packaged in a clear container with a printed cardboard band.
The FDA is urging consumers not to eat these products. It encourages consumers to discard the products or return them to their place of purchase for a refund.
