OUR MALASADA STORY
Malasadas are a huge part of the Hawaiian culture a nd we knew we would have to raise the bar if we attempted to serve this lovely treat at Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery; After one year of perfecting our very own Pipeline Classic Malasada and over 100 test batches, we finally came up with a product that we are extremely proud of. Our malasadas have changed the way people think of the popular doughnut. They have a beautiful crispy exterior and an oh so fluffy interior making them the talk of the town. We introduced Hawai’i to the first malasada that has doesn’t have the oily after taste and best of all, will last for days. Yes…days! Our malasadas will maintain its perfect shape and sugar coating the next day which was unheard of. They do not defate, do not soak up the sugar or turn into an oily magnet as expected. Our malasadas maintain their beauty and taste for days without the oily effect.

THE PIPELINE MALASADA
In true malasada form, we do not fill any of our malasdas. We spent a great amount of time and effort in perfecting the texture of our malasadas; filling them would not only affect the texture, but it would definitely shorten their life spans. Our crunchy exterior and oh so soft and tender interior will make for an awesome malasada experience. Our malasadas are good for days!
We do offer 5 regular types of sugar that coat the outside

MALASADA DAY
Shrove Tuesday also known as Fat Tuesday or the French term Mardi Gras is commonly known as Malasada day in Hawaii. While the date is different each year, it is 41 days before Easter and always the day before Ash Wednesday to mark the start of the Lenten season. While it is celebrated every year, typically in February or March, we belive that EVERYDAY IS MALASADA DAY!.
This year, Malasada Day will fall on Tuesday, Feb 13, 2024. Be sure you pre-order ahead of time, so you can minimize your wait time and enjoy Hawaiiʻs best malasadas with your friends and family.

The texture of our malasadas is best appreciated when there are no fillings. So we do not currently fill our malasadas. However, we have a variety of flavored sugars to choose from.

We begun scouting for a location every day and finally found our gem in Kaimuki that used to be a toy store called Toys n’ Joys.
