DRINK RECIPE • ORANGE JUICE
Can you freeze orange juice? In short, yes. But you’ve come all the way over to our juice blog, so at least let us give you some of our top tips while you’re here.
According to the freezer folk over at freezeit.co.uk, you can freeze orange juice in a well-sealed container or freezer bag for up to 10 months.
You can even freeze whole cartons of juice (just open and pour some out first to give it room to expand). But if we’re honest, we’d recommend buying Eager juice that will wait patiently in the cupboard until you’re ready to enjoy it. Keep that precious freezer space for ice cream instead.
If, however, you have found yourself with a half-drunk juice carton and some extra freezer space, we have two solutions for you. The first: ice lollies (check out our guide to making ice lollies with fruit juice ). And secondly, some of those fancy ice cubes you’ve probably seen on Insta (guilty 🙋)
In this blog we’ve handpicked three impressive ice cube recipes that you can make at home using your favourite Eager juice flavours.
Let’s get creative!
Don’t get us wrong, normal ice is nice and everything, but if you haven’t tried fruit juice ice cubes yet, you’re in for a treat. Here’s why:
They instantly make any co*cktail or mocktail look ten times more exciting
You can add little bits of cut up fruit, citrus rind or even edible flowers to make them look even more ap-peeling
There are many different shaped and sized silicone ice cube moulds to experiment with
They’re a great way of serving ice-cold juice, without watering it down when your ice melts (if straight up juice is more your style)
From diamonds to dachshunds, you can find ice cube trays of all shapes and sizes online. We love the intricate flower cubes in the video below (and don’t need much convincing to pair our Eager orange juice with prosecco either…)

Brunch time, you say? Don’t mind if we do.
We love the elegant simplicity of this drink and give it five seconds before your guests whip out their phones for a pic too. You can find the flower moulds online at Habitat or Temu. Simply fill with Eager orange juice – or any of our other Eager juice flavours – and freeze, then top with your favourite fizz.
Bonus points if you have a pretty Champagne coupes to serve them in too like Emma (you can pick up a set of 4 from IKEA).
Layered ice cubes with Eager orange, apple and cranberry juice
Stop. Get ready. OK, go! These layered frozen juice cubes may look a bit like retro rhubarb and custard sweets, but they’re giving us some serious signals too.
You can get creative with the juice flavours to mix up the colours, but we love the idea of creating traffic light layers with cranberry, orange and apple juices.
These do take a little longer to make, as you have to freeze each layer before moving onto the next, but the results will be especially fun for kids, and we love the idea of dropping them into a glass of sparkling or soda water.
Top tip – measure out one of your ice cube compartments first with water from a measuring jug, then divide by three to make sure your layers are even. You might even want to use a deeper ice cube tray to get the full effect.
Citrus iced tea cubes with Eager orange juice
Now if you find yourself with some time on your hands, these citrus iced tea cubes are full of flavour.
Connie from The Carrot Underground has done some serious recipe testing to develop these “fun & healthful” cubes, combining orange juice with her favourite herbal teas (including matcha, lemon and mint) and thinly sliced ginger, lemon, fresh mint leaves and turmeric. Just like with the traffic light cubes above, allow each layer to freeze for a couple of hours before starting the next!
In three stages, freeze your layer of Eager orange juice, followed by your fresh ingredient of choice and enough water to just cover it, then your choice of cooled tea.
