It’s that time of year….for holiday parties galore! My quick and easy holiday appetizer will be a hit at your next soiree!
The holiday season is in FULL swing! Our weekends are filled with parties—2 a night—and our weekdays are filled with Christmas get togethers and caroling. We. Are. Busy! I have a feeling we’re not the only ones? Busy days call for quick and easy treats to bring to Christmas parties and festive lunches, and I have got such a simple holiday appetizer idea for you—a hummus wreath! Simply place your hummus in the center of a platter, surround it with green veggies, decorate with some brightly colored veggies, and serve! Healthy and gorgeous—it will help to balance out all of those cookies you’ve been making 😉
Want to make it even easier? I am loving the hummus from Boar’s Head! Irving and his co workers all keep tubs of hummus in their mini fridges at work for quick and easy lunches. One night after work a couple of weeks ago I told Irving about this upcoming post, and that I had some Boar’s Head hummus in the fridge for him if he wanted to take itwork. He laughed and told me that the Boar’s Head brand was their favorite, and that he already had some there. And then two days later my tub disappeared. I think we all know where it went!
Boar’s Head hummus is made from quality non-gmo ingredients, completely gluten free, and vegan. They have several different flavors, including Traditional, Kalamata Olive Tapenade Hummus, and Tuscany Style White BeanHummus. I was able to find them at my local Fred Meyer (super Kroger) store.
Hummus Holiday Appetizer
Be creative with your layout—I chose broccoli because it most closely resembled a wreath, and a few cucumber slices for easy dipping. Sprigs of rosemary would be a fun way to dress it up further! I use radish halves and cherry tomatoes in reds and yellows as ornaments on my wreath. Include a bowl of chips on the side and you’ve got a gorgeous holidayappetizer to use as a centerpiece for your party spread!
Stash a second tub of Boar’s Head Hummus in your fridge for easy snacking on those days that you seem to go from morning til night! Or be like Irving and keep a tub at work for your daily lunches!
I hope you have a chance to try Boar’s Head hummus this holiday season! Be sure to take a picture and tag me {#frieddandelions // @frieddandelions} I’d love to see how your holiday appetizers turn out!

That is exactly my thought process. If I eat all of this hummus and broccoli, surely I have earned cookies, right?
