What lunch do vegans eat? ›

Can you eat rice on paleo? ›

Strict paleo dieters exclude all grains from their diets — including rice — primarily due to their high phytate content. Paleo-veganism, termed “pegan” by New York Times best-selling author Dr. Mark Hyman, encompasses more than a diet, although that's what many people focus on when they're new to the concept. Is it possible to be paleo and vegan? ›

Strictly speaking, though, vegan paleo is not 100% paleo, but it doesn't mean it is not a working diet. See, a vegan diet does not contain animal or dairy products. It relies solely on plant-based foods. On the other hand, the paleo diet includes meat, fish, and eggs while leaving out grains and legumes.

What is the paleo vegan hybrid diet? ›

The “pegan” diet is a hybrid, combining the paleo diet -- which focuses on whole foods that might have been hunted or gathered, like fruits, veggies, meats, and nuts -- and the vegan diet, in which you eat only plant-based foods.

What diet is paleo with dairy? ›

This has led to the development of a hybrid version of the regimen, a “lacto-paleo” diet. With this form of the diet, adherents still avoid excess sugar and processed foods, but they do include dairy products in their daily lives.
